Wirewin S/FTP patch cables are characterized by their high quality and are suitable for gigabit connections with an operating frequency of up to 250 MHz. Category 6 cables are used for voice, multimedia and data transmission as well as ATM networks.
Shielding
The 100% copper strands are double-shielded and the cable also has kink protection. The sheath is halogen-free and extremely flame-retardant.
Halogen-free jacket
In contrast to conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is therefore eliminated and smoke generation is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and there is no dangerous fuse effect.
Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP)
Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP) refers to cables that have a metallic screen around each pair of wires (FTP) and also an overall metallic screen (S). There are hardly any impedance or reactance deviations with shielded cables compared to unshielded cables. The transmission parameters are relatively constant and better than with UTP cables, even at high frequencies.
Category 6/6a/6e
Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are often used in the professional sector in particular. Transmission speed suffers with longer lengths, but short excess lengths are harmless depending on external influences. Applications for Cat 6 include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
